“Berlin, the most fascinating city in the world” has Hubertus Siegert of S.U.M.O. Film accompanied with his 35mm camera from the air and from the ground by day and by night “from all directions”. The result is the cinema documentary Berlin Babylon.
Siegert’s camera “dives into the street canyons, lingers in the backyards, swings over gigantic new buildings” capturing, among other things, the colorful participants of the Love Parade (1997/’98) around the Goldelse (Victory Column). Since there is access to the original film reels, the recent past (1997/’98/’99) of the capital can be transferred into a 2K or 4K.
